RIHSPI is led by a Board of Trustees composed of seven individuals:
Karel Brouwers
President (2011-2012)
Karel of Kakami Design Philippines (based in Cardona, Rizal) is an avid steam locomotive fan. He contributes to the society with his extensive workmanship in woodcraft. He is responsible for the restoration of Buda 22 and the creation of the wooden frames used for the Society’s photo exhibits.
Alberto Nual
Vice President (2011-2012)
Alberto is a diesel locomotive modeler. He aspires to ride the train again from Manila to his hometown in Calauag, Quezon.
Jaime F. Tiongson
Treasurer (2011-2012)
Jaime is an executive in Magnolia Incorporated and an active member of the Pila Historical Society Foundation Incorporated. He contributes to the group with his extensive experience with industrial and marketing management. His interest in railways roots back in the 1980s and he has successfully traced abandoned railroads in Laguna riding a mountain bike. He is also active in the archival research and promotion of the rich history of Pila.
Edlee Tusi
Secretary (2011-2012)
Edlee is an architect by profession and works for a firm located in Pasig City. He is in charge of the RIHSPI Membership Committee.
Victor Dennis T. Nierva is a poet, teacher, journalist, filmmaker, translator, theatre actor, graphic artist and a railway enthusiast from Bicol—the railway region of the Philippines. He was born in Naga City to a family very much connected with the railroad and grew up along the tracks of Lupi, Camarines Sur. His first book of poems in his native Bikol and English, ‘Antisipasyon (Anticipation)’ won the 2007 National Book Award for Poetry and was finalist at the Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book Awards. He teaches media studies at the Ateneo de Naga University and is finishing MA Creative Writing at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Juan Carlos Salamat is a multimedia artist working at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. He is responsible for the design and management of the Society’s information and communication resources. He also spearheads the production of video features for the Reese Channel.
Rodney Orca is an avid railway enthusiast and is among the most vocal and active members of the Society. He operates and manages Prints N Rails, a digital print shop inspired by railway culture.
